We need Buddies to help our children play the game.
Buddies can be senior or junior high school-age students, who are then assigned to help a specific elementary, junior high or
high school age player. No special training is required. A Buddy's job is to simply be a friend: engage the child in a conversation,
if possible; help him/her hit, throw, catch the ball, if needed; keep the child's attention on the game and make sure no one
gets hit by the ball. This is a truly rewarding experience for both the players and the buddies. The best part is that buddies
free up the parents, who can then take a much-deserved break and sit in the bleachers and cheer for all the children.
We
ask buddies to show up 15 to 30 minutes before game time so we can divide them up among our teams. If you are interested
in being a Buddy, please e-mail Barbara at info@katychallengerbaseball.com.
Be sure to check the Rainout Page two hours before game time
in case we have to call off the game because of wet field conditions.
